An access audit assesses all the elements of an existing environment, whether it is a car park, public park or building, in terms of its accessibility. It will identify any barriers to access which may prevent a disabled person from being able to use your services.
In addition to car parking provision, entrances, doors, stairs, ramps, lifts, tonal contrast, lighting, wayfinding signage, emergency means of escape etc; where necessary reports will comment on auxiliary aids such as hearing enhancement systems and management policies, practices and procedures.
Access audits can be particularly useful before you decide to commission any design work or building work. An access audit will help to inform you of what is important, before you have spent any money on the design. It is often the case that an access consultant can be brought into a project too late or even worse not at all. This can result in changes to the design and changes can cost you money. So if you are considering altering or improving your premises, it is prudent to start with commissioning an access audit and then you can move on to the design phase with confidence.
I will tailor the report to your exact requirements, but we can look at the following services as a guide to build your report on;
Level 1: Walk and Talk Access Audit with a 1 page bullet point summary
This cost effective service will provide you with an overview of the accessibility of your environment. We will walk around your premises, talking through the access issues which arise. I will then prepare a short 1 page bullet point summary. You are welcome to take your own detailed notes during the audit.

Level 2: Walk and Talk Access Audit with a written summary
This service is the same as Level 1, but includes a short written summary of our discussions which will be in the region of 10-15 pages depending on the complexity of the building / environment. You are welcome to take your own detailed notes during the audit.
